Look, I'll be straight with you: this movie is not good. A 15% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes isn't a typo—it's a warning label.
The premise sounds fine on paper: young couple in love, families clash, wedding chaos ensues. But the execution leans hard into racial stereotypes (Mexican-American family vs. African-American family) in ways that feel uncomfortable rather than insightful. It's the kind of comedy where you're cringing more than laughing.
Even if you're desperate for a family-friendly rom-com, there are dozens of better options. This one's forgettable at best, and at worst it's teaching your teen that lazy stereotypes pass for humor. The 5.1 IMDb rating and 48% audience score tell you everything: even people who generally like rom-coms found this one lacking.
Unless you're a completist or have literally exhausted every other wedding comedy on the planet, skip this one. Your Friday movie night deserves better.
