This is what cooperative board gaming should be—fast, focused, and genuinely requiring teamwork without one bossy player running the show. The X-Men theme delivers (Professor X! Wolverine! Magneto!), and the card-combo system creates satisfying 'we did it!' moments when you pull off a coordinated takedown.
The 14+ rating is overly cautious. If your 10-year-old can handle Ticket to Ride strategy, they can handle this. The chibi art might turn off some teens looking for edgier Marvel content, but it also makes the superhero violence completely abstract and family-friendly.
Downside? It's not infinitely replayable. After 15-20 plays, the puzzle starts feeling samey even with different villains. But for families wanting a solid Marvel game that doesn't overstay its welcome, this hits the sweet spot. Much better than the bloated licensed cash-grabs that usually flood the market.
