This is 'comfort food' media that forgot the seasoning. It's a standard-issue 2020 TV movie that hits every beat you expect—breakup, job loss, small town, new guy—but does so with a 5.2 IMDb energy that suggests even the actors were ready for a nap.
While it's wholesome and safe, it suffers from a massive 'Watchability Penalty.' Unless you are specifically looking for a movie that requires 5% of your brain power while you fold laundry, there are much better small-town stories out there. It’s not bad, it’s just aggressively fine.
