Hellsing (2001) is the moody, experimental sibling to the later, more faithful Hellsing Ultimate. It’s slower, weirder, and focuses more on 'vibes' than the actual plot. For a modern kid, the animation might feel stiff, but the soundtrack and character design still carry a lot of weight.
If your teen is into the gothic horror scene, this is a rite of passage. Just know that it’s a bloodbath from episode one. It’s not 'safe' for anyone who isn't already comfortable with the darker corners of the anime world.
