Here's the thing: Go Under is a 2015 expansion of a Japanese visual novel about tourism. If you don't already know what that means, your kid probably isn't asking for it.
The concept is actually kind of neat—exploring real Tokyo locations through an interactive story. Educational-ish! But the complete absence of content ratings is a massive problem. Visual novels are notorious for having wildly different versions (some all-ages, some... very much not), and without an ESRB rating, you have no idea what you're getting.
The genre itself is super niche. Unless your teen is already deep into anime culture and specifically requesting visual novels, this isn't going to be on their radar. And if they ARE requesting it, you need to do some serious homework first because 'visual novel' can mean anything from wholesome dating sim to something you definitely don't want on the family computer.
Bottom line: Too uncertain for a confident recommendation, too niche for most families, and honestly there are better ways to teach kids about Japanese culture—like actual documentaries or age-rated games.
