Look, it’s Book 14. By now, you know if your kid is a Wimpy Kid fan. If they are, this is a slam dunk. If they aren't, this is as good a place as any to start because the plot—a house falling apart—is more focused than some of the earlier 'just life' entries.
Greg Heffley isn't a role model, and he isn't trying to be. He's a relatable, slightly selfish kid trying to survive his family. In a world of 'educational' media that tries too hard, there's something refreshing about a book that just wants to make a kid laugh while they're under the covers with a flashlight.
