Blinky Bill is the animated equivalent of a participation trophy—it shows up, does the bare minimum, and nobody's mad about it but nobody's excited either.
The Australian setting is charming, the themes are solid (friendship, courage, finding your missing dad), and it's genuinely safe for young kids. But here's the thing: a 5.2 on IMDb and 44% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes tells you everything you need to know. Critics liked it fine (73%), but actual viewers—including kids—found it forgettable.
It's free on a dozen platforms, so if you need 90 minutes of inoffensive koala content on a rainy afternoon, go for it. Just don't expect anyone to ask for a rewatch or remember it by next week. There are better animated adventures out there, but there are also way worse ways to spend screen time.
