Look, this is a 2015 direct-to-video Batman movie made to sell toys, and it shows. The 5.6 IMDb and 2.6 Letterboxd ratings aren't lying—this is thoroughly mediocre superhero fare that younger Batman fans will tolerate and everyone else will forget five minutes after the credits roll.
It's safe enough (standard punching and monster designs, nothing traumatic), and the Halloween theme adds some seasonal flavor. But with so many genuinely great Batman animated options out there—Mask of the Phantasm, the Lego Batman Movie, even the excellent animated series—this one only makes sense if your kid has already exhausted the good stuff and is desperately craving more Caped Crusader content.
The premise about villains disabling technology could be interesting, but it's not explored with any depth. It's just a MacGuffin to get Batman fighting monster-themed bad guys. If you need something Batman-related for a 7-9 year old on Halloween, fine. Otherwise, keep scrolling.
